What's going into Bitcoin
This shape isn't a direct percent scale. Otherwise, the last few years' drop would hide behind the 2010 spike. Exact numbers are at the slider and in the result below.

Not every month has the day you picked. In short months, the purchase moves to the last day of that month.
Calculated strictly on schedule, no fees or taxes.
Price is averaged across several major exchanges. A specific exchange could show a slightly different number.
Where these numbers come from
Ever wondered what if I had bought Bitcoin? This tool answers it the way most people would actually have done it: a little at a time, on a schedule. Pick a small amount (coffee, cigarettes, a subscription, or your own number) and a rhythm: daily, weekly or monthly. It then runs that habit through real daily BTC/USD prices going back to 2010. The strategy is known as dollar-cost averaging, or DCA.
The start-date slider matters most. Keep the amount and the schedule exactly the same, change only the day you begin, and the outcome can swing from a huge gain to a loss. The curve shows every start date at once. Same choice, very different endings, and the difference is mostly when you happened to begin, not how well anyone saw it coming.
A few honest limits. No fees, no taxes. Prices are averaged across several exchanges, and a day runs on UTC. And the past says nothing about what comes next. This is arithmetic on history, not a hint about what to do.
